The Surprise visit



The Prime Minister, Mr Key's surprise visit.

Today Mr Key was visiting Bayview School and called in to say hello to the children and families at Bayview Kindergarten. What a surprise we all got.Mr Key spent time talking to Makyla, Katie, and Cayden. Thank you to Bayview School for sharing Mr Key with us.

Buns and Milo






One of the Morning mum's brought buns in for the children to spread and enjoy for their morning tea. We picked lettuce from the garden which Maia washed then we set up the table ready for the children to prepare their bun with margarine, jam, marmite, lettuce. Kathy made delicious warm milo for the children to drink with their healthy bun. YUM!!!!!!!

Muffin Making at Kindergarten


Earlier in the week Emma asked Kathy and me "if we could make muffins like we did last time?". How could we say no??. We decided that Friday would be a good day because we have a longer session which would give us plenty of time for baking. On Thursday we picked rhubarb from the kindergarten vegetable garden which Emma and friends, Natalie and Maia, washed, chopped, and cooked, ready to add to a muffin if desired. We also picked and chopped up spinach from our garden to add.........

Whale Rider - the book.


This week we have read the story about 'Whale Rider' to the Morning Children; a Chapter a day. This is a complicated story for 4 yr olds to understand, with some big, difficult, words. We have been amazed by how much understanding our children have of some of these words, and how able they are to articulate their understanding..............
