Mr Bean

Mr Bean Seed growing in a vase:


October 19th: We are watching to see if a Scarlet Runner climbing bean seed can grow in a glass vase pressed between the glass and some wet serviettes. We need to keep the serviettes wet. The bean seed has no soil. Will it grow?????

November 4th: Mr Bean seed in the vase is growing very nicely. All three are growing (unfortunately i broke the stalk of one but the other two are doing fine - one better and taller than the other). Interesting isn't it that a seed will grow with water alone......no soil.

Today some children drew a still-life drawing of Mr Bean Seed. Hannah drew the picture above. Hannah said, "This is Mr Bean. He is growing so tall. And he will grow so big".

Neve also drew Mr Bean Seed. Neve said, "This is Mr Bean. Mr Bean is growing in a jar. He has got roots for pushing up out of the water. He has leaves. He pushes up into the sun to grow. The seed opens up". Pretty amazing words, thinking, and observations from Neve.

We will continue to watch Mr Bean Seed and measure his growth.
